Apr 14, 2020 · The purpose of this document is to provide a better understanding of IPv6 Link-local address in a network. A link-local address is an IPv6 unicast address that can be automatically configured on any interface using the link-local prefix FE80::/10 (1111 1110 10) and the interface identifier in the modified EUI-64 format. These addresses refer only to a particular physical link and are used for

I would recommend using addresses in FD00::/8 rather than in FC00::/8 for this, FD00::/8 is allocated as locally assigned ULA, where FC00:/8 is intended to be used for centrally assigned ULA, ie each organisation wanting ULA will be allocated a 40-bit prefix (presumably by IANA and/or the RIRs, though no assignment mechanism has been defined IPv6 ULA (Unique Local Address) RFC4193 Registration List, SixXS - IPv6 Deployment and IPv6 Tunnel Broker, helping to deploy IPv6 around the world, IPv6 monitoring, IPv6 routing monitoring, IPv6 coordination, IPv6 Transition Apr 15, 2011 · IPv6 Subnet Calculator NOT REQUIRED! In most cases a subnet calculator will not be required, since IPv6 using hex (hexadecimal) – and so long as the prefix length is a multiple of 4, it makes it quite easy. For example (this is also where the table “IPv6 Subnet Reference IP Address” comes in a lot of handy above): 2402:9400:1234:1234::/64 CIDR notation is a standard syntax for writing IPv6 addresses with a routing prefix. It consists of an IPv6 address, a slash, then a number of bits to measure the routing prefix. 2002::1234:abcd:ffff:c0a8:101/64 is an example of IPv6 CIDR notation. docker network connect ipv6 pihole: docker network disconnect bridge pihole: docker restart pihole # modify setupvar.conf: # cat etc-pihole/setupVars.conf | grep IP: DHCP_IPv6=true: IPV4_ADDRESS=192.168.1.2 # Docker Host IP: IPV6_ADDRESS=fd00::1111:1111:1111:1111 # Docker Host IPv6 # restart pihole dns

IPv6 code was merged into NetBSD in June 1999, and is part of NetBSD. IPv6 configuration is mostly the same as IPv4 configuration, so you may want to check the documentation for IPv4 networking. The GENERIC kernel configuration enables IPv6 support by default for most of the architectures (ports).

Apr 14, 2014 · Yes either way it should still work with that in-house, but I found out our routers aren't configured for ipv6 anyways. So it looks like ipv6 will have to be un-checked on the test client computers, but left turned on within the servers as microsoft recommends. Was worth a try. Thanks for your help, much appreciated.

The ipv6 dhcp server starts, and is listening, but it is >> not >> handing out addresses. I tested with two Windows machine: ipconfig >> /release6 then ipconfig /renew6. Both machines had an ipv6 address from >> the old dhcp server, so it's not a client problem, and can renew said >> address.

When IPv6 is used over Ethernet networks, the Ethernet MAC address can be used to generate the 64-bit inter-face ID for the host. This is called the EUI-64 address. Since MAC addresses use 48 bits, additional bits must be inserted to fill the 64 bits required. • • • IPv6 Addressing At-A-Glance IPv4 = 32 bits IPv6 = 128 bits IPv6 Address Whois Lookup. The IPv6 whois lookup tells you the owner of an IPv6 Address. You can use this information to contact the owner in case of abuse or spam report. % This is the RIPE Database query service. % The objects are in RPSL format. % % The RIPE Database is subject to Terms and Conditions. IPv6 FD00::/8 CIDR to range The IPv6 CIDR to Range tool provides the start and end IPv6 address for an IPv6 address range using CIDR notation. Enter an IPv6 address width CIDR (for example 2001:DB8::/48 ) .
