All 4: Channel 4's Catch-Up TV Service - Which?
Sky has announced that Channel 4's 4oD video on-demand service will join its TV platform next week, and the firm has also secured the high definition versions of More4 and Film 4. 4oD is the latest terrestrial catch-up TV service to launch on the NOW TV Box, which already offers access to BBC iPlayer and Demand 5, adding over 3000-hours of content to the NOW TV box for customers to enjoy at no additional cost. In perhaps the most surprising and disappointing decision since Sky Sports News left Freeview, which every aerial and satellite engineer still reminisces about. Channel 4 HD and All 4 (formerly 4OD) are both set to leave the Freesat platform on 22nd February 2018. All 4 is a video on demand service from the Channel Four Television Corporation, free of charge for most content and funded by advertising. The service is available in the UK and Ireland, and viewers are required to have a TV licence when watching live, but not when using on demand services. The service launched on 16 November 2006 as 4oD. The service offers a variety of programmes recently shown on Channel 4, E4, More4, Film4 and 4Music and shorts. From Monday Sky subscribers can access the Channel 4 video-on-demand service 4oD from the Sky On Demand service located from the Sky HD+ set-top box. The service now has all the major UK broadcasters alongside 4oD they also have the BBC iPlayer , ITV Player and Five On Demand .
