What you should to do to create your own Silverlight Voice/Video chatting system
Interleaved binary data SHOULD only be used if RTSP is carried over TCP. Stream data such as RTP packets is encapsulated by an ASCII dollar sign (24 hexadecimal), followed by a one-byte channel identifier, followed by the length of the encapsulated binary data as a binary, two-byte integer in network byte order. Aug 20, 2009 · The result is that the player connects to the RTSP server, and all communication flows over a single TCP connection between the two. HTTP Tunneled mode: RTP and RTSP over HTTP over TCP. You would think RTSP Interleaved mode, being designed to transmit video across firewalls, would be the end, but it turns out that many firewalls aren’t configured to allow connections to TCP port 554, the well-known port for an RTSP server. Real-Time Transport Protocol (RTP) is an Internet Protocol standard that specifies the way programs manage the real-time transmission of multimedia data over unicast or multicast network services. In comparison to TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) which favors data integrity rather than delivery speed, RTP favors rapid delivery and has RTP is not an exception, but because the data transported over RTP is often inelastic (generated at a fixed or controlled rate), the means to control congestion in RTP may be quite different from those for other transport protocols such as TCP. Raw UDP or RTP over UDP are transmission protocols for streams just like raw TCP or HTTP over TCP. To be able to stream a certain program over the given transmission protocol, an encapsulation method has to be defined for your container format. For example TS container can be transmitted over UDP but Matroska can not. RTSP - RTP over TCP Normally, RTSP provide streaming over UDP. By nature, UDP is a better choice as it provides robust streaming capability for media. However, it is unlikely to use UDP for streaming over the Internet. Thanks Jaap, but I'm not referring to RFC 4571. I already have an RTP-over TCP stream, and would like to use Wireshark's 'RTP Analysis' feature to analyse this flow, in terms of delay, bandwidth etc. However RTP isn't an option under the 'Decode as' options for TCP packets. Can anyone advise on how to deploy RTP analysis for a TCP flow? Thanks,
Let me try and explain what I mean, Generally in RTSP/RTP streaming the RTSP protocol controls the stream and is usually over TCP, and the actual stream data is sent over UDP on a different port after RTP packetization, so in wireshark one would see a seperate UDP and TCP stream.

Please let me add my few thoughts on this. From a programmer's or developer's perspective, the RTP is not another "driver" - just as Jon said, it sits atop of UDP and is usually implemented as a …
Jul 03, 2017 · TCP/IP is a suite of protocols used by devices to communicate over the Internet and most local networks. It is named after two of it’s original protocols—the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and the Internet Protocol (IP).
